Letter of Commitment

As Representative for the office of Congress, in the 3rd Congressional District of New Jersey, I _________________ do hereby agree to commit to the following conditions, While I am in office:

1.     I will abide by and adhere to The Constitution of the United States of America as well as the State Constitution of New Jersey in all decisions, votes, actions and discussions while I hold the position of Congressman.

  2.  I will agree to read and review every Bill in which I am asked to cast a vote upon, including any amendments to all Bills and I will thoroughly explain my stance on all Bills to my constituents.

3.   I will commit to reduce our National Deficit through fiscally responsible spending in all areas of government. I will refuse to vote in favor of any bill that includes additional “pork barrel” spending. I will oppose deficit spending at every level of government without exception. I will not support any tax increases on any person, product, service, industry or American based endeavor of any kind.  I will work to reduce fees and taxes on small business.

4.  I will commit to making every effort and take every action to secure our Nation from foreign & 
domestic invaders, terrorists & illegal persons.  I will take every opportunity to secure our borders through 
surveillance, law enforcement and implementation of present and new laws. I will not allow a path to citizenship for illegal aliens to ever be a consideration until the following have been firmly established:  a secure border, severe employer penalties for the hiring of illegal aliens/undocumented workers and immediate deportation of illegal aliens detained in all American prisons and detentions centers, regardless of the class of charges in which they are detained. (felony or misdemeanor)

5.  I will make every effort and take every action to reduce the national debt, reduce taxes, fees, charges and levies placed upon my  constituents and all Americans.  I will support a simplified income tax structure and will fight to reduce income tax levels for ALL taxpayers by a minimum of 2% each & every year I am in office.

6.  I will hold the position at home and aboard that the US Constitution is our defining document, not international law, and I will never allow international precedents to supersede or influence the US
Constitutional Authority in America.  I support the fact that we will never be held to the approval or authority of the United Nations.

7.  I will support the use of military tribunals and oppose civilian trials for suspected non-citizen terrorists and enemy combatants.

8.  I will support a “true” 5% budget cut for every department and agency (not to be confused with a reduction in the rate of increase) at the Federal level, each & every year I am in office.  All budgetary cuts and fiscal savings will be applied to the National Debt and not used for any other purpose.

  9. I will maintain an open, transparent and documented communication with all lobbyists and special interest groups.  I will  work towards implementing the same standards for all members of Congress.

I am committing to these principles and acknowledge publicly my position that they are logical and appropriate positions to take for any individual holding public office.  I will act as a true servant for my constituents, and place their interests above my own. I understand that by signing this agreement I have committed to Ocean County Citizens for Freedom and her sister Tea Party Groups to abide by its content.
